The Legal Psychology Group conducts psychological and neuropsychological assessments with adolescents and adults with criminal matters pending at all stages of the criminal process to assist lawyers with psychologically informed case preparation, and tribunals and courts with psychologically informed case adjudication and management. Our assessments are driven and shaped by the specifics of the case, the referral questions of the instructing solicitor, and the requirements of the tribunals and courts. Common referrals include:

Medicolegal Expertise
The Legal Psychology Group conducts psychological and neuropsychological assessments with adolescents and adults across a range of medicolegal and disability settings to provide lawyers, case managers, insurance companies, funding providers, tribunals, and the civil courts with diagnostic and functional information required in cases of psychological injury (e.g., PTSD), neuropsychological injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury), capacity and guardianship, and disability funding and support.
General Consulting
The Legal Psychology Group conducts research and provides literature reviews on request to provide lawyers and the courts with up to date scientific knowledge about case relevant psychological topics of legal importance (e.g., the reliability of memory in children who report sexual abuse; the reliability of evidence provided by people with intellectual disabilities; psychological sequelae of sexual abuse). Collectively, we have many years of experience providing expert evidence at tribunals and at all levels of the judiciary, including the Supreme Courts.
